PeterFounder | Leadership Team Member | Haircutting TeacherWhy did you become a hairstylist? I loved being where Fashion and Art collided, and the fact that you could earn a living in such a creative context blew me away. It still does. What inspires you? Anything original, inviting, moody, playful, well-crafted, spirited, lively, eye-catching, tinged with mischief, beautiful in a way that catches you off guard. For me, a great haircut is like that. A product you can’t live without: Hamadi’s Shea Hair Cream, because it shapes and enlivens hair without the sticky, chemical feel of more predictable styling products. |

MarilynSenior Style Director | Haircutting TeacherWhy did you become a hairstylist? Sassoon had opened their school and two of my friends were going. That's when I realised Hairdressing was changing in a way that excited me. What inspires you? Doing work I love. Being able to wear what I want, listen to music and meet people I would not come accross in my everyday life. Because my clients come from such different walks of life, I get to find out and learn so much. I enjoy being passionate about my work. Haircuts inspire me. Each one is its own math problem to solve! A product you can’t live without: Right now it's Bumble's curly mousse. |
JohnSenior Style Director | Leadership Team Member | Haircutting TeacherGraduate of Bumble and Bumble University courses with an emphasis on fierce conversation communications, haircutting design studios, and curl conscious haircutting. Why did you become a hairstylist? A third grade crush on a girl with an amazing bob and searching for skateboarding spots in high school led me to be a professional at Peter Thomas Hair Design. I'm happy to tell the whole story in person. What inspires you? I am inspired by my life of adventure, my daughter Chloe, and the people around me. A product you can’t live without: Bb. Quenching Leave-In Conditioner because of its versatility. |

KatrinaStyle Director | Master Colorist | Leadership Team Member | Director of Color EducationWhy did you become a hairstylist? In high school, I discovered doing hair and it was the first and only time I felt definite and excited about what I wanted to do for a living. What inspires you? I love getting people enthusiastic about their look and creating a hairstyle that works really well for them. My influence comes from the client and all the previous work I’ve done. I’m also inspired by the stylists around me and the ongoing education provided by Peter Thomas. A product you can’t live without: It’s always changing. Right now, I really love Bumble and Bumble Styling Lotion and Hamadi Shea Pomade for creating a natural feel and flow. |
AlisonStyle Director | Haircutting TeacherWhy did you become a hairstylist? I’m an artist and I wanted a job where I could work closely with people. I enjoy the sculpting aspect of crafting a style that works just right for a client’s hair texture, facial features and lifestyle. I also love the personal interaction, hearing stories, sharing ideas or just letting clients have a peaceful hour. I’ve been doing hair since 2002 and I’m always learning new techniques and it’s never boring. What inspires you? I’m inspired by haircuts I see people wearing out in the world. When someone likes their haircut, their whole style really shines; no matter what style they’ve chosen. Hair is a very important accessory. A well-crafted haircut will turn heads. I especially love men’s haircuts and shorter styles for women. I get tons of ideas from album covers and indie movies. A product you can’t live without: Because I wear a short textured pixie cut, I love Rene Furterer’s Naturia Dry Shampoo. It leaves my hair clean with a great texture, not soft and fluffy. I also love Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray and Sumotech. |
NancyMaster Stylist | Senior ColoristWhy did you become a hairstylist? I was inspired early on by the Sassoon geometrics, Twiggy's pixie of the early 60's, Julie Christie, Jane Fonda in "Klute", Audrey Hepburn, Jean Shrimpton, and Dorothy Hamill's iconic wedge twirling on the ice. They were done perfectly as far as I could see, with intention and a plan. And I wanted to know how to do that. What inspires you? All hair on every head and why its there and how it got there. Also, seeing great looks executed on difficult hair. A product you can’t live without: Texture by Bumble and Bumble and Astera by Rene Furterer. |

KarianneTop Stylist | Senior Colorist | Haircutting Teacher | Event Styling and Up-Do InstructorWhy did you become a hairstylist? I can't think of a better way to spend my day than helping someone feel great about themselves. I just really love doing hair. What inspires you? More so than the magazines and runways, I'm inspired by the cool kids walking down the street to The Sartorialist to my co-workers. Hot looks come from people, not the runway. A product you can’t live without: I can't live without a great shampoo and conditioner; ones that nourishes and heals hair so it's in the best condition it can be. It's the foundation for any fabulous look. |

LindsayTop Stylist | Senior Colorist | Color EducatorWhy did you become a hairstylist? I knew I wanted a job that was artistic but would still earn me a living, hairstyling seemed to be just that. What inspires you? Kids at rock n roll shows, both on stage and in the audience. A product you can’t live without: Modeling paste, because I love how it shows off the texture in my cuts. |
JennaStylist Level 3 | ColoristWhy did you become a hairstylist? Because I couldn’t afford art school. What inspires you? The Seventies and 90210. A product you can’t live without: Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine because it tames the shrew. |

Stylist Level 1 | ColoristAnnaStylist Level 1 | ColoristWhy did you become a hairstylist? I started in preschool, cutting my friend's hair and getting in trouble with their parents. But I picked up a passion for it when I started assisting at Peter Thomas.Working under such talent and unique vision helped me develop my own creative style and skill. What inspires you? The magic you find in impermanence. And the idea of creating something fun and beautiful that will always grow into something new. I also love local artists and musicians, period pieces, french film, and any girl rocker from the 20th century. A product you can’t live without: I like a variety of products because no one is the same. But I love the Hamadi line because it is natural and organic and will never irritate the skin, and actually delivers on what they claim. |

LisaStylist Level 1Why did you become a hairstylist? I wanted to make people feel better about themselves by giving them a great hair style and color they could easily maintain. I felt this need to help people feel more confident about themselves by helping them achieve their best look possible while keeping them clean, current and modern, because let’s face it… we can all get in a rut. What inspires you? I get inspired by looking at a client and being able to take their natural hair texture, facial features, routine and style and create an ideal hairstyle that shows off their natural attributes while giving them an edge all their own. I am also influenced by street fashion and people I see at music shows that I attend. Technically I am influenced by mixing current with classic shapes. Right now I am inspired by texture, asymmetry and symmetry. For women, currently I love long layers in back (short in front), lots of texture and bobs. For men, I love long layers, short cuts with a little disconnection to keep them modern and lots of texture for every cut.. A product you can’t live without: Naturia Dry Shampoo. It gives curls texture, fine-straight hair body, updos strength and every hair type can use it to give them that current matte look. It also keeps your locks clean in the shortest amount of time. It is a must have! |
